Sara Beer

Sara is Director for Change for Ramps Cymru (working title); an initiative between Theatr Clwyd, The Sherman Theatre, Torch Theatre, Pontio Arts and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to increase access and inclusion for Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent creatives on and off stage, with the ambition of making the theatre sector in Wales the most accessible in the world.

Sara has spent the majority of her career working within disability arts; beginning with performing with companies such as Graeae Theatre and then for 15 years worked with Disability Arts Cymru. Her many and various roles over that time included supporting disabled artists across Wales, running projects and creating showcasing opportunities. Sara also coordinated and directed productions for DAC’s Unusual Stage School.

As an actor Sara has worked extensively with Kaite O’Reilly, including ‘Cosy’ at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff and with Gaitkrash Theatre in Cork; ‘And Suddenly I Disappear’ in Singapore and the UK, and her one woman show, Richard III redux, also directed by Phillip Zarilli, which has been performed in Wales, Germany and Spain. Sara has more recently performed with National Theatre Wales in ‘Cost of Living’ at Swansea Grand Theatre.
