Investment Review Statement

We are thrilled to be selected as one of the new Arts Council of Wales regularly funded organisation from 2024.

We have worked hard over the last few years to create a more sustainable organisation, working with more people, and having a larger impact on audiences across Wales.

This round of funding was extremely over-subscribed, and we are grateful to ACW for their investment in our work and organisation. With this funding and stability, we will continue to support our members and the wider community with initiatives to enhance the performing arts in Wales. We will be able to expand our work, supporting more people and help grow the sector.

Huge thanks our members, staff and Board members (past and present), who have been an integral part of getting us here.

Congratulations to all the other successful applicants, especially those receiving regular funding for the first time.

We would like to acknowledge and extend our support to organisations, many of whom are members of Creu Cymru, who haven’t been successful as part of this round. They all do brilliant work and make up an important part of the performing arts sector in Wales. We will do all we can to support and help them at this time.

We are very grateful to Arts Council of Wales for their continued investment and support of the arts sector in Wales.  However, we also note that for many organisations standstill funding represents a real-time cut, which combined with the impact of the cost of living crisis will put limitations on their ability to develop and grow activity. There will be difficult decisions to be made in the future for many organisations, and we look forward to more discussions with both Arts Council and Welsh Government to see how we can work together to best continue supporting our wider communities.
